Welcome to another edition of our e-newsletter. Thanks to all of you who supported our most recent
event – Dining with the Saints. It was a resounding success, and there are pictures up on the Face Book
group. Our next event is the September 13th launch of the 75th Anniversary celebration of our Past
Student's Union.

Please continue to keep in touch with us. A form 5 student, Renaldo Matamoro, has been asking for
guidance in pursuing a career in medicine. If any doctors out there are willing to mentor him, his email

Reunions are increasingly popular. The class of 1978 just had theirs. Now Kevin Snaggs (aka Friggy or
Snagglepus) has formed a group on Face Book to coordinate a reunion for the Form 5 class of 1989 and

SIR GARFIELD SOBERS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS CRICKET TROUNAMENT 2008.

The St Mary's College cricket team went on their 7th overseas tour to Barbados to participate in the 22nd Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools tournament .

Due to the postponement of the CAPE exams, our form 6 senior students were unable to make the trip and as a result we carried the Under 16 team that won the National Title this year. Read more
Following the recent Annual General Meeting of the St. Mary's College Past Students' Union, A. John Allum was elected as the new President, succeeding Richard Joseph as the head of the fourteen-man Management Committee. Following his elevation to the post of President, Allum commented that the new committee represents a good blend of personnel with a number of young members who will be able to benefit from interacting with the more experienced members. The past students of the Class of 1978 hosted a reunion this year to mark 30 years since graduating from
St. Mary's. The steering committee, chaired by Aidan Gregoire, began working in early January. The biggest
challenge faced was contacting alumni. Time and different career paths had done much to separate
the year group as compared to 1993 when the first reunion was organized. In addition, a large percentage
of alumni were now based overseas. Personal networking and college records proved to be an
invaluable resource in this regard. Full article here
