The St. Mary’s College Past Students’ Union will be hosting
its annual All-Inclusive Carnival fete on Saturday 23rd
January, 2010 on the College compound, Frederick Street,
P.O.S. As usual, the full proceeds of this and all of our
fund-raising events will be used to finance various projects
at College. The proceeds of this particular event will go
towards air-conditioning the Centenary Hall which was built
in 1963.
Since being established in 1933, our Past Students’ Union (PSU)
has been a source of strong support to our College in many
ways, both financial and non-financial. Last year, the PSU
celebrated its 75th anniversary and in recognition of this
significant milestone, the members undertook a number of
projects, some of which are highlighted below:
• Full funding of multi-media equipment for the classrooms
($197,000)
• Full funding of microscopes and stills for the chemistry
laboratory ($97,0000)
• Partial funding of sundry repairs to the school compound
during the 2009 July/August vacation ($47,000)
• Full funding of inter-class debating competition ($7,000)
• Two-thirds funding of new 30-seater bus to transport
students ($210,000)
• Sourcing sponsorship for the football programme at the
College (since 2006)
• Arranging coaching for the team representing us in the
2009 Young Leaders inter-school debating competition
• Participation in the Mentoring programme at the College
The funds for the above-listed projects were raised from the
PSU’s two major fund-raising events over the past few years:
Dining With The Saints and Fete With The Saints. We are
requesting your support for Fete With The Saints 2010 and
also ask that you encourage your friends and relatives to
purchase tickets.
To purchase tickets, kindly complete and return the attached
tear-slip to our Office Manager, Mr.Sedley Joseph, at the
